Richard Greiner is a partner in the shipping industry group and has more than 30 years' experience in providing assurance and advisory services to the shipping industry. Working principally in the European Union, the former Soviet Union and Central and Eastern Europe as well as the Middle East, Richard's work has covered due diligence investigations, audits and financial reporting to local and international standards business planning, tax structures, privatisations, and shipping finance transactions including both new buildings and second-hand vessels. Richard is a regular speaker at shipping and ship finance conferences and seminars and has written articles and papers on shipping finance and accounts. He leads the Moore Stephens ship operating costs benchmarking report, OpCost. He is a committee member of the Ports and Terminals Group, a trustee of the Maritime London Office Cadet Scholarship and a board member of the OSCAR campaign. Born in 1960. Educated at St. Paul's School, London and the University of East Anglia Norwich. Joined Moore Stephens in 1982 as a student chartered accountant and qualified in 1985. Resident Director of Moore Stephens, Warsaw (1991-1993) and resident Partner of Moore Stephens, Limassol (1993-1996). Since returning to the United Kingdom in 1996 he has worked in the Shipping Industry Group at Moore Stephens, London and is now a Partner with responsibility for consultancy, research and business development.
